Alps Epic Trail: Swiss nejdelší singletrack a jeho podmínky
With a length of 45 kilometres, the Alps Epic Trail is Switzerland’s longest single track. And it’s no surprise that the route was named one of the best mountain bike trails in the world by the International Mountain Bike Association (IMBA). The trail has a great flow and boasts lots of breathtaking scenic views. Fun factor? The trail starts with a cable car ride from Davos onto Jakobshorn’s summit. From there, the trail leads you into the picturesque side valley of Sertig and through the village of the same name. Afterwards a challenging, technical ascent onto Rinerhorn awaits you. You’ll have to put your leg muscles to work again. The Alps Epic Trail isn’t suitable for beginners - it definitely requires some bike experience, as some sections of the trail contain steps, rocks and the like. The Alps Epic can also be divided into stages. Completing the Bahnentour in one day is only something for very athletic riders. The 10,000 metres of difference in altitude and almost 100 kilometres of single tracks can also be spread out over the course of several days.

The Bahnentour is as flexible as the requirements of individual bikers - because the tour can be adapted, extended or shortened based on your own taste and level of skill. If you want to improve your biking skills, you’ll have to continuously work on your riding technique. And the Technique Trail on Jakobshorn is perfect for this. The start of the trail is halfway downhill from the Jakobshorn mountain station to the intermediate station. The Technique Trail is open from mid-June to mid-October and can easily be reached by taking the Jakobshorn cable car.

Once you reach the mountain pass, you’ll have to take a short break to breathe in some fresh Alpine air and enjoy the beautiful scenic views of the surrounding mountains. On one side, you can see Davos and Landwasser Valley - on the other side, you can see Sapün and the neighbouring holiday resort of Arosa Lenzerheide. 1st Alps Trail Davos: It is 38 kilometres long and was named an Epic Trail by the IMBA last year. This makes the Alps Trail from Davos not only the longest trail in Switzerland, but also one of the best in the world. With plenty of flow, the trail leads from Jakobshorn (2590 metres) via Sertig to Davos-Monstein and down to Filisur. There are 615 metres of ascent on the way and you will also have to push along the Via Romantica, but that's all part of the adventure!

2nd Corviglia Flowtrail: The slope below the Corviglia cable car is extremely steep. And what does a good flow trail builder do with it? Right: he simply carves more bends into the mountain. This flow country trail above the rooftops of St. Moritz really is a little rollercoaster wonder. But considering all the other flow trails in the Upper Engadine, you'll only be warming up for bigger challenges here.
